Residential Estate Management
The pristine environment and abundance of well-maintained plants and trees are a defining feature of Kings Hill. The carefully landscaped, communal areas are kept impressively clean and tidy. Seasonal plantings and the use of many native species, bring life and colour to roads, footpaths, green ways, cycle ways and roundabouts.
Kings Hill achieved a Silver Gilt Award in the 2014 South & South East in Bloom competition for the ‘village/town centre’ category, focussing on the landscaping which links the residential neighbourhoods. Points were awarded for community involvement, horticultural achievement and environmental responsibility throughout the year. More than 2,000 sq m of poppies and wildflowers were planted and residents were offered free packets of poppy seeds to plant in their own gardens to commemorate the start of WWI. In 2015, Kings Hill won a further 3 Silver Gilt Awards for Conservation Area, Village Centre and Business Landscape, about which the judges commented that it was “a well planted, colourful and relaxing environment with some exceptional planting schemes.”
Kings Hill Residential Estate Management Company is a not-for-profit entity, with two residents as directors, which oversees the upkeep of the landscaping in the residential villages. It also maintains community amenities such as bus stops, street lighting, footpaths and over 50 dog waste bins. In response to increased inclement winter weather it also provides a snow clearance service for the main access roads.
