Tower View Road Closure

Over the last few days we have given careful consideration to undertaking the works on alternative dates during July.  Unfortunately, owing to a number of factors, a further rescheduling of the works is not to be pursued.  Therefore, we can now confirm that the works are to proceed as planned on Monday, 30 April. The part of the works that requires the temporary Tower View road closure will be completed and Tower View will be reopened on the evening of Monday, 14 May. There will be some further works to be done to complete the construction of the puffin crossing which will take a further 2 weeks, however, Tower View will be open to two-way traffic during this period.

Meanwhile, we can confirm that one of the new access roads linking Tower View to Beacon Avenue will be opened which will mitigate the impact of the temporary road closure.  To allow time for residents to familiarise themselves with the new access route, we will open the new access road on Monday, 23 April.  Please be advised that due to the early opening of this road, there will still be landscaping to be completed along the verges which will require temporary traffic management arrangements.  Therefore, we will schedule these works for after the completion of the Tower View pedestrian crossing.

Click here to see the updated diversion plan that shows the new access road in yellow that will be open from Monday 23 April.  Parking will not be permitted on the new access road and Euro Car Parks’ remit will be extended to cover it.

During the Tower View closure HGV’s and buses will not be permitted to use the new access road and must use the diversion route coloured in green.
