Location, Location, Location
There are double celebrations for Kings Hill-based finance group Cabot Financial Limited – new offices and two top business awards.
The company, a market leader in consumer debt purchase, is about to move into its new purpose built headquarters on the business park in August and has just been named Business of the Year and Employer of the Year in the South East England region of the Orange National Business Awards.
“The awards are a fabulous moving in present for us,” said Cabot’s group chief executive Ken Maynard. “We won Business of the Year for our exceptional financial returns and dominance of the UK market, and Employer of the Year for our excellent staff attendance record, retention and motivation.
“I feel this is in no small part due to our surroundings. Kings Hill is a great place to work, with high specification offices, its own shops and restaurants, plenty of parking and lots of open green space. Such a good environment makes life less stressful and certainly helps in recruiting top quality staff.
“We currently employ over 330 people but hope to increase this to over 450 in the next three years. I am sure our location, as well as our awards, will help our recruitment drive.”
The new 43,717 sq ft building, No. 1 Kings Hill Avenue, is positioned in a prestigious location close to the 'silver ball' sculpture at the entrance to the business park and adjacent to the David Lloyd leisure centre.
Designed by architects Michael Kilgour Associates, the building is one of the Flex series, providing single storey, air conditioned flexible space around a central courtyard. Cabot has committed to a 20 year lease.
“We were delighted to be able to accommodate Cabot’s requirements in their new building and it is an excellent example of our flexibility enabling us to provide bespoke options for precise business needs,” said Andrew Blevins, managing director of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd.
“Cabot’s awards are a great credit to them and it illustrates how important environment is when it comes to staff recruitment and retention.”
Inward investment agency Locate in Kent welcomed the news that Cabot is moving into new premises and will be recruiting new staff. “Kent is now an established business location, especially for financial services companies, and we are delighted that Cabot will be bringing more jobs to the county,” said Chief Executive Paul Wookey.
