Sold on Kings Hill
One of the country’s most successful retail construction companies has re-committed to Kent and renewed its lease on offices at Kings Hill.
Independently-owned RG Group, which employs 200 people and has a turnover in excess of £200 million, has taken a further ten years on its headquarters in 4 Abbey Wood Road, where it occupies 7,956 sq ft.
The company specialises in the design, construction, refurbishment and extension of retail premises, and clients include Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Ikea, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer.
“We moved to Kings Hill from London five years ago because the lack of parking became a huge issue for us and the staff were finding it increasingly difficult getting to and from work,” said managing director Jon Noble.
“We looked for new offices in the whole M25 area and decided on Kings Hill because of the high quality environment it offers, modern buildings and ease of access to the M25, which was crucial as we have sites throughout the UK. Our staff come from a wide radius of Kent, Essex and Surrey and Kings Hill is a convenient location for everyone.”
Abbey Wood Road is at the heart of Kings Hill and is part of the ‘office village’. Andrew Blevins, managing director of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd said that he was delighted the company has decided to remain at Kings Hill.
“It is good to know that we are providing what tenants are looking for and that RG Group has recommitted to Kings Hill.”
Kings Hill is a thriving community with around 4,000 people living in the residential village, 15% of whom are employed by a business on site. Around 100 companies are based at Kings Hill, ranging from international and national corporates to SMEs.
There is a good range of shops, restaurants, a pub and coffee shop in Liberty Square, together with the usual 'High Street' amenities, such as a dry cleaners, post ‘n packing warehouse, florist, hairdressers, chemist, gallery and gift shop, card shop, opticians, dentist, vet, estate agents and recruitment agency which serve both the business and residential communities at Kings Hill.
A 90,000 sq ft David Lloyd Leisure racquets, health and fitness club opened in 2006 and there is also an 18-hole PGA golf course, a day nursery and University of Greenwich conference centre.
