The best place to be

Leases for over 20,000 sq ft of premium office space have been signed at Kings Hill by companies recommitting to staying at the 800 acre landscaped park.

Teligent Ltd and ADT Fire & Security have both renewed their leases on their offices on the business park, in 2 Kings Hill Avenue and 11 Tower View respectively.

As a leading supplier of infrastructure solutions and value-added services to telecommunications operators worldwide, Teligent requires a prestige location with good access to rail and road links and, said managing director Adrian Foulkes: “We have been based at Kings Hill for nearly six years and are delighted to be staying.

“One of the major benefits of Kings Hill is the flexible lease system and building construction that the developer operates, which enables us to rent space according to the business’s needs. The premises are of a high quality, surrounded by extensive landscaped grounds and there is plenty of parking as well as shops and places to eat on site. This is great for our staff, helping staff retention, which is good for our customers and our business alike.”

ADT Fire & Security has also recommitted to Kings Hill and has signed a lease for a further ten years. The company designs, installs and maintains electronic fire and security solutions for homes and businesses and is part of Tyco, a 500 million dollar business that provides systems for five million homes and two million commercial premises in 50 countries.

“When our lease was about to expire we looked at alternative locations but decided that Kings Hill is still the best location for us,” said Glenn Amato, regional general manager for ADT’s UK South East region.

“It is close to motorway and major transport networks which provides easy access to London and rest of UK, which is a very important factor for us. With a generous amount of car parking for our staff and visitors and being in a pleasant environment, it provides us with a conducive place in which to work, surrounded by landscaped grounds and within a very short walk of the shops and restaurants of Liberty Square.”

The company employs around 100 staff in its Kings Hill offices and a further 80 field engineers who are based around the South East.

“In this challenging economic climate we are delighted to have retained two high profile tenants,” said Andrew Blevins, managing director of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd. “We are very well located, two miles from J4 of the M20, with historically generous parking ratios and we work hard to keep occupational costs down, which is a goal for all businesses.”

ADT was represented by King Sturge and the landlord by Knight Frank.
