Kings Hill most popular location

Bellway - The Howard

One in every eight houses sold in Tonbridge and Malling are at Kings Hill and over the past year the number of new properties sold on the development was at the highest level since 2007.

According to the latest report from the Land Registry, a total of 550 transactions took place in the borough during the third quarter of 2013 (July to September), and of these 67 were in the Kings Hill postcode – 91% higher than in the same quarter a year ago and the highest number for a third quarter since 2010.

During that time, detached houses accounted for 45% of transactions, semi-detached 12%, terraced 38% and flats and maisonettes 5%.

In addition to sales of new homes last year being at the highest level since 2007, house builders sold the highest number of new properties at Kings Hill in the first nine months of 2013 than have been sold during the equivalent period since 2002.

According to Kings Hill New Homes - a marketing forum of homebuilders currently building at Kings Hill together with developer Liberty Property Trust UK – this underlines the fact that Kings Hill is now one of the most popular places to live in the area.

“This is excellent news and not just in terms of sales of new homes at Kings Hill - it also demonstrates that there is a buoyant market for second-hand stock, making it an attractive prospect for those wishing to move within the development,” said Andrew Blevins, Liberty’s managing director on behalf of Kings Hill New Homes.

“Proximity to good schools, both state and independent, is one of the drivers in house sales and we are very fortunate to have many in the area. We are also surrounded by beautiful countryside, have good connections to London and Europe and can provide for residents’ everyday needs with shops, restaurants and leisure amenities on site. The business park also provides them with the option of employment on the doorstep.

“All of this combines to create a true community which provides a great quality of life at Kings Hill.”
The current members of Kings Hill New Homes are Bellway, Hillreed Homes and Crest Nicholson. Bellway is currently marketing ‘The Howard’ starting from £392,995 and Hillreed has just completed its 14th development at Kings Hill. Hillreed will be announcing the launch of its 15th site early in 2014. Crest Nicholson will be launching its new development of 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom houses in the spring.
