Kings Hill house sales at six year high
House sales at Kings Hill are at a six year high, raising the prospect that the market has turned the corner.
According to the latest figures from the Land Registry, there were 240 transactions at Kings Hill last year - the highest for any year since 2007 - and one in every eight houses now sold in the borough of Tonbridge and Malling is at Kings Hill.
The Land Registry report shows that over the last three months of 2013 the number of transactions at Kings Hill was 60% higher than in the equivalent period the previous year and the highest number for any quarter since 2010.
During this period detached properties accounted for 26% of the total sales at Kings Hill, semi-detached 29%, terrace 30% and flats/maisonette 15%. Compared to a year ago the market share of different property types is now more evenly distributed, with a marked increase in the sale of flats and maisonettes.
According to Kings Hill New Homes - a marketing forum of homebuilders currently building at Kings Hill together with masterplanning developer Liberty Property Trust UK – this marked increase in sales heralds a very promising 2014.
“We are feeling very confident about the year ahead and these excellent sales figures show that we are providing what people want,” said Susan Davies, Liberty’s residential co-ordinator, on behalf of Kings Hill New Homes.
“Kings Hill has a wide range of properties and this choice, together with the amenities we have provided and its excellent location, continues to appeal to a wide range of people.”
The current members of Kings Hill New Homes are Bellway Homes, Hillreed Homes and Crest Nicholson and over the next few months a varied range of new properties to suit different budgets will be launched to the market. Hillreed will be announcing the launch of its 15th site at Kings Hill in the spring, Bellway Homes launched the first phase of its “Signature” development in February and Crest Nicholson is about to launch its new development of 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom houses.
